“What if you were roadtripping the whole Crete from one edge to the other, visit all wineries of the network and write about your experience?” Oh, my goodness! I didn’t even think about dates or whatever. I reflectively said “I’ll do it!”. All the rest could be set!

The mad hatter wishes you 'a very merry unbirthday'. He serves tea and suddenly, images pop out of the teapot... Paliokalias, Royat pruning, 19th century documents, ducks, dogs, horses and a fireplace. And as long as you think you're seeing a dream, you come across an old factory, waterfalls, and crowds ringing bells and playing flutes and drums!... Is it a dream or the reality? Maybe we’re in Wonderland??? Very likely! I’m sure, however, we are in Xinomavro-land! Ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Naoussa Carnival and Domaine Dalamara!

Brass bands, carnival, Balkans, xinomavro, rivers, Vermio, ski, textile... In a word, NAOUSSA! And all these during the crazy Naoussa Carnival! This is the first episode of our adventure at Chateau Pegasus, of Markovitis family...!
DOMAINE SPIROPOULOS (Mantinia) - Saturday, January 7th, 2012

A memorable long weekend with a day trip to the heart of Peloponnese, visiting one of the coolest wine regions of Greece. What we speak about is mountainous Arcadia. A weird temple, the ancient city of Mantinia, and the protected destination of origin with aromatic Moschofilero starring! Our wine exploration at Domaine Spiropoulos and the Estate of vine-grower Tassos Bokolas had it all!

Where did I go again? In the place where flourished one of the first civilizations of Europe from about 3.000 BC-1.400 BC. In the birthplace of Nikos Kazantzakis, Eleftherios Venizelos, El Greco, Nikos Xilouris, Manos Katrakis, Vitsentzos Kornaros, Yannis Markopoulos... In a place with wine, olive oil, tsikoudia, music, snails 'bourmpouristoi' and many clichés that we love! This time I visited Crete, the glorious island!...

An incredible day with Monsieur Phillipe Blanck of Domaine Paul Blanck, tasting grapes from regular and Grand Cru vineyards, grapes with noble rot and the new, fermenting wine of 2011!... This is pure quality dude!...

This time I found myself... in north-eastern France! Between the Vosges Mountains and Rhine... In a region called Alsace. We did this trip with our bicycles! Cycling and trying Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, while meeting very interesting people. We raise our glasses then, and... à votre santé!!!
